Innovative Machine from Wexxar Bel Keeps Up with Production Demands while Saving on Energy Costs

Delta, British Columbia - The latest innovation in case sealing from Wexxar Packaging, a division of ProMach, is the BEL 290 fully automatic case sealer. The BEL 290 has been designed to meet the demands of heavy-duty applications and to minimize energy waste during slow or paused case production upstream.
The BEL 290 features Case Flow Logic, an innovative technology from Wexxar, which monitors the rate at which cases are flowing through the machine, hibernating when the machine is not in use, and automatically restarting when case flow resumes. This built-in power save mode allows production departments to work more efficiently.
"Our customers have told us that environmental and sustainability issues are important to them," says William Chu, General Manager at Wexxar. "So, we looked at ways we could help them save energy costs while at the same time meet the demands of their heavy-duty, industrial applications."
The BEL 290 is equipped with other popular Wexxar features, including touch-screen controls; tape and operational speed management; a heavy-duty side belt drive system that ensures precise flap folding; fully-interlocking Safe Logic safety guarding, which protects operators while accessing the machine; tool-less, color-coded case size changeover; and extruded aluminum frame construction. The BEL 290 also features a very compact design for machinery of this class. With a 75"x35" footprint, the BEL 290 fits easily into most packaging line applications.
"In addition to its versatility, reliability, and compact design, what sets the BEL 290 apart from other case sealers in its class, is its high-speed capability," says Chu. "The BEL 290 tape seals at up to 45 cases per minute. It is also offered in a glue sealing version."
The BEL 290 accommodates a wide range of case sizes and is available for top only sealing or top and bottom sealing in tape or glue. Wash-down options and extended guarding packages are also available.
